For over 30 years, Atlanta Judo Midtown has offered high-level Judo instruction to the Atlanta community. Rooted in the spirit of Judo—maximum efficiency with mutual benefit— our dojo welcomes both beginners and experienced students.
Located in the heart of Piedmont Heights, AJM is home to recreational and competitive Judoka, professional stunt performers, families, and seniors looking to build confidence through movement.
Whether it’s a child learning discipline, an adult exploring martial arts, or a senior building resilience, AJM provides a space to grow safely, skillfully, and at your own pace.
What is Strong and Stable?
Strong and Stable is a Judo-inspired program designed for adults 55+ who want to learn how to prevent falls and reduce their impact. In Judo, understanding how to fall is one of the first skills learned (ukemi, or fall-breaking). This method helps distribute impact and protect the body. By combining Judo, strength, and balanced- based training, Strong and Stable students will learn how to prevent falls, and avoid serious fall-related injuries.
This free 45-minute Strong and Stable class teaches you how to safely and confidently get up off the ground without assistance. Whether you're recovering from an injury, looking to build confidence, or just want to feel more in control of your movement, this practical session is a perfect first step.
