"Incredible judo community. Came in with no experience and am now hooked. Instructors are knowledgeable and patient with

answering questions. Recently, AJM has made a dedicated beginner class, so if you’re interested in giving the sport a try, now is

the time to join."  -Nathan C

"My family and I have been attending AJM for five years now. My son loves going to Judo now. The first year was tough for him,

but once he started to learn how to fall and some basic throws, he lost all fear. He enjoys to go to competitions and has earn

metals at all tournaments which is a direct result of the instruction there. AJM constantly brings Olympians like Colton

Brown, Nick Delpopolo, Chris Round, and others to help supplement the instruction to very high level. Love to see how my

son has changed from a shy that seemed to get hurt at almost anything to a tough confident young man. Very grateful for

AJM! If there were 10 stars I would give that, but I will settle for a perfect 5 stars!" -Raul B

“Mommy I think I found my thing, Judo is my thing,” my daughter told me after her first day here. And, a year and a half later her

enthusiasm is still strong. Thank you to Atlanta Judo Midtown and all your coaches (but especially Matt), for all you do.

Not only is the training excellent, she leaves with a smile every time she trains." -Andrea H.

"I have been training at AJM since 2020. It's a wonderful environment! Everyone is friendly and helpful, regardless of your

experience level, athleticism, or competition goals. Every sensei has an extremely deep understanding of Judo as well as the

skills to pass that knowledge on to others. Beginners receive focused support on the fundamental skills that will allow them to

protect themselves and their partners in sparring. Randori (sparring) is held after each class, giving you an opportunity to work

on what you've just learned (or refine your favorite techniques) live. If you're on the fence, try the 2 week trial! Don't wait until

you think you're 'fit' enough to do Judo. The training itself is an excellent way to build your fitness in a great community while

learning and having some fun!" -Cameron B.

"Great place to learn both a traditional martial art and an Olympic sport. Decades of combined experience with an open and

welcoming atmosphere. Also a great way to get in shape. Nothing like tossing around your body weight for an hour or two to

cut inches off your waistline." - Richard P.

"I've been training at AJM for 6 months and AJM has reignited my long forgotten love for Judo. It is an outstanding Judo school

with an excellent technical curriculum. The teachers are extremely knowledgeable, experienced and genuinely care about

each of their students' progress and well being. The team is incredible with everyone focusing on improving each other's skill.

Matt is amazing at teaching the kids and my son is always excited about the next practice. I just wish I had visited this place earlier."

"AJM is an excellent school. It’s a gorgeous facility and the instructors are fantastic. One thing that I am always impressed

with is that when I go to chat with Sensei Matt Scheib is that he is always looking for new material and new ways to teach judo.

Please check it out if you are in the area or passing through." -Chris R.

"I've been going to AJM since 2017. I've always enjoyed my time in class and quality of instruction. The dojo has a diverse

population of students - backgrounds, skill levels and judo goals - which makes it a rich and rewarding experience. The dojo is

well connected with others in the local scene so you get to meet judo players from many other clubs often and the dojo sponsors

visiting instructors of national and international merit several times a year. Wonderful place and couldn't ask for more!" - Drew S.

"This is a great school with a good atmosphere. The instructors are attentive and patient when teaching the techniques and

are committed in making sure it’s students have a positive experience on their journey in Judo. The club also has a great group

of students, no attitudes just a good spirit of comradery." -Stanley S.

"I've been training at AJM since January 2022. I came in with no martial arts experience and felt horribly clumsy when I

started. The staff helped me immensely and made me feel welcome. The training environment is very friend and group oriented

with people consistently giving encouraging words to each other and little tips to help you improve in a non condescending way.

The gym is kept clean with the mats, pads, and dummys being wiped down with disinfectant after use. I would recommend AJM

to anyone looking to learn judo." -Jacob B.
